With April right around the corner we have started to
think about the Easter and
Passover celebrations we will be having with family
and friends. Naturally, there must be wine involved.
So, we thought we'd take the opportunity to share with
you some options that would go perfectly with your
Easter Sunday or Passover Seder dinners.
Easter Recommendations:
Domaine la Garrigue Vacqueyras - A Rhone
blend of Grenache, Syrah, Mourvedre and Cinsault,
this
wine is full of wild berry and bright black fruit flavors
with a touch of fresh herbs. For those of us who take
part in the robust Ham and Lamb feast every Easter,
this wine is
perfect. ($23.99)
Angeline Sauvignon Blanc - Beautiful, light,
and crisp this Sauvignon calls for salmon. If you are
having a heart-healthy Easter and choosing fish, this
is your wine! The touch of citrus, melon and honeydew
flavors work perfectly with salmon steak seasoned
with a dash of fresh lemon.($14.99)
Canella Rose Brut - Let's be honest here...
we all know what the best part of Easter is - dessert!
To sit back with a delicious light cream puff or Easter
Egg Shaped Cookie while the kids fill their baskets in
the yard is awesome! The only thing that could make it
better is a refreshing sparkling Rose made from Pinot
Noir full of juicy, strawberry flavors to go along with
your treat. You won't even need to add fruit to your
cream puff! This is perfect on its own as well. ($16.99)
Giraudon Aligote - A lovely, bright creamy
white such as this is great with chicken and the bright
spring vegetables with which some of you will
impress your relatives. Fresh, clean, ripe and
refreshing, having a glass of this may will warm
weather to finally come! ($13.99)
3 Trees Pinot Noir - Dark fruit aromas and a
touch of vanilla on the palate make this wine supple
and complex. With just a little bit of spice, this
Australian Pinot Noir can also go with Ham, but would
fit gamey dishes such as Cornish hens and rabbit just
right. ($15.99)
Kosher, Passover Recommendations:
Teal Lake Cabernet/ Merlot - Dry and round,
this Australian blend has cedar notes, spice and wild
berry flavors. Its firm taste will work well with
thoroughly marbled briskets or slow cooked prime rib
roasts. This wine's plumy flavors may be just what
you need to make the dish complete. ($14.99)
Recanati Cabernet - Grown in the ancient soil
of Israel, this 100% Cabernet is full, smoky and a little
spicy. For those of you venturing out to your grill to
prepare your Passover feast, this is your wine. Plum
and blackberry fruit on the palate only enhance the
deep savory flavors of hearty meals.($13.99)
Baron Herzog Chardonnay - Lush and
complex, this California Chardonnay has tropical fruit
flavors and a hint of vanilla. Try this wine with
something more traditional - it compliments Matzah
ball soup perfectly.
The slightly tangy hints and dry finish in the wine play
off the broth exactly as it should. ($15.99)
