"The Holiday Duet" last minute gift idea

Inevitably during the hustle and bustle of the holiday season there may be one or two people for who you forget to buy a gift. And before heading to their house for a party or quick glass of holiday cheer, you find yourself scrambling trying to find a great gift, battling the traffic, picking through the left overs in stores. Well, we have been in that position before! So The Savory Grape has a great last minute gift idea ready for quick pickup at the store – The Holiday Duet Wine Basket.

We package two popular wines in a basket and include a bow and gift tag for your convenience – just put your name and the recipient's name on the card and knock on the door. But watch the mistletoe! Holiday Duet baskets will be available starting Friday, December 22 and are value priced at $29.99

    Weekend Wine Tasting
    Cavas Submarinas

Friday, December 22 (5 pm to 8 pm)

    • Cavas Submarinas, Chile: Cavas Submarinas, from the Itata valley in Chile, is the first "Pinot Noir-Carmenere" blend from Chile. An exotic red, the wine is silky smooth with rich flavors of black cherry, plum and hints of nutmeg spice from the Carmenere. Medium bodied and richer than most Pinot Noirs, the wine will stand up to foods that are both heavier in body and flavor. ($16.99)
    • In Situ Cabernet Sauvignon, Chile: Another Chilean red, this Cabernet has true aromatic complexity with ripe black currant and chocolate flavors on both the nose and palate. Its well structured tannins from hillside-grown grapes combine with soft tannins from the riverbank vineyards, giving us this complex wine full of subtle aromatic tones and personality. ($12.99)

Due to the hustle and bustle of this holiday weekend, we will not hold our usual Saturday wine tasting.
