This Week's Savory Selections
2006 El Molinet, Valencia, Spain. El Molinet started as a tribute to Tempranillo, the backbone of Spain's most famous wines. This decadent combination of Tempranillo and Cabernet Sauvignon create jammy blackberry and blueberry aromas with notes of tobacco and cardamom. Red fruit flavors of cherry and raspberry, espresso and chocolate offer great depth and structure that then provide a fantastic, silky finish. Is it summer yet - this wine is itching to be paired with most things grilled. Lamb is always a great partner too. ($15.49)
2006 Vivir, Vivir Ribera del Duero, Spain. With the use of 20-60 year old vines at their finger tips, the winemakers have created this gem from 100% Tempranillo. Racy aromatics of allspice, black cherry and blackberry carry you right along to a silky, round palate of rich fruit with a subtle lingering note of cinnamon spice through the finish. This selection can be enjoy now or over the next three years. ($12.49)
2007 La Posta Cocina Blend, Argentina. This blend of Malbec, Bonarda and Syrah impresses right from the start. Dark purple colored with beautiful aromas of red cherries and raspberries infused with mocha and spice hints, the wine has savory flavors of ripe blackberry, plum and black raspberry. This wine will drink nicely over the next 3-5 years, and when you are ready to open, we recommend decanting for about 30 minutes. It earned 89 points by Wine Spectator. ($15.99)

Weekend Wine Tastings
Friday, April 10th, 5 to 8 PM - Argentina Here We Come!
2 007 Arido Sauvignon Blanc, Argentina. The wine opens with fresh aromas of citrus fruit, white flowers and fresh cut grass, typical of the varietal. Additional aromas of peach and apricot lead to a lush palate featuring a crisp, clean acidity. Some say this wine is like a lighter version of France's Sancerre (made from Sauvignon Blanc), with a fresh texture, round fruit and nice fruitiness. This is a wine that is meant to be drunk within the next 1-2 years. Chill slightly, open and enjoy! ($12.99)
2007 La Posta Cocina Blend, Argentina. Please see tasting notes above in this week's Savory Selections. ($15.99)
Saturday, April 11th, 3 to 7 PM - Artist Reception and Spanish Features
2007 Pares Balta Ros de Pacs, Spain. Rosés have already started arriving at our door step. Pares Balta is no stranger to the store, but we always look forward to the newest releases. This Merlot and Cabernet blend has an inviting aromas of raspberry and cherry that fill the nose, preparing you for a light and fresh palate. The wine has an interesting balance between acidity and cherry fruitiness, but it always leaves you wanting more, especially on a warm spring day for which we all are longing. ($10.99)
2006 Vivir, Vivir Ribera del Duero, Spain. Please see tasting notes above in this week's Savory Selections. ($12.49)
